Processors still on course for Q4 2007 but Q1 2008 speculation refuses to go away

AMD rebuffs Phenom delay rumour

AMD has denied that it has delayed the upcoming release of its Phenom line of processors.

Speculation arose after a source close to Digitimes told the website that the manufacturer had "already notified several motherboard makers that Phenom will now begin test-production in November or December, and will launch in first quarter of 2008."

AMD remains adamant that the range will hit the market this year and that the previous delay was due to the manufacturer improving performance of the CPU in order to compete against Intel’s upcoming Penryn line of processors, also due late this year.
