AMD marketing slides for the Radeon 6700 high-end graphics card series have been leaked which claim twice the horsepower of the previous generation.
The image purporting to be a marketing slide for AMD's upcoming Radeon 6700-series graphics card appearing on Chinese language forum PCinlife and documents two unlaunched products called the HD 6750 'Barts PRO' and the HD 6770 'Barts XT'. Having posted the image of the table forum members noted the boost in specifications but questioned whether it truly represented twice the power of the previous generation.
The high end HD 6770 is said to be clocked at an impressive 900MHz and be based on 320 stream processors with 2.3 teraflops of computing performance. The slide points to a boost of nearly 60 per cent boost in performance and while this performance comes at a slightly higher power penalty it seems that the efficiency of power to performance is set to increase.
The table latter appeared on another Chinese web site in a more complete form lending weight to the leak. AMD has yet to officially unveil models and a release time. Taiwanese tech commentator the DigiTimes, based on sources within manufacturers, claimed that AMD had pushed the release date fro the 13th of October to some time in November.
