AMD is confident that its new website, dubbed 'Graphics Scout' will be a success, after it noted a 'very positive' response during its trial period.

The tool has been designed to help mainstream consumers identify compatible graphics cards, and to remove many of the barriers to getting involved in DIY upgrading.

"The goal of this website is to help non-technical audiences find the graphics card that is right for them," commented senior product manager at AMD, Sasa Marinkovic. "We’ve done this by keeping the content of the website simple and easy to understand. So far, test user comments have been very positive with them noting that the site is easy to navigate and fun to use."

She added that the company was taking on feedback gained during the trial and would be looking to grow the website's remit in the near future. "It is likely that the site will be expanded to include additional helpful information such as how to install a graphics card, a glossary of key terms, and frequently asked questions."
