Lockers expected to be piloted in various tube stations by the end of the year

Amazon to convert tube station ticket offices into pickup lockers

Amazon is currently in talks with TfL to install collection lockers in London Underground stations.

TfL announced yesterday that as part of its plans for 24 hours tube trains from 2015, 240 ticket offices will close down.

The online retailer plans are to convert these offices into Amazon Lockers, which are self-service collection points for online purchases.

Amazon has previously installed a collection point in Hammersmith. IBC.co.uk reports that additional lockers are expected to be piloted in various tube stations by the end of the year.

The news comes in the same week that Asda revealed it is to open click-and-collect points in the car parks of six London Underground stations.
