Activision has settled a legal row over royalties with two of Modern Warfare 2’s developers.
The two programmers, Jason West and Vincent Zampella, sued Activision for wrongful dismissal after being fired from the company back in March 2010.
The former bosses of Activision’s Infinity Ward claimed they were due £654 million in royalties, and were fired so the company could avoid paying it out.
This was met with a countersue from Activision, saying the pair had stolen company secrets.
After leaving Activision, Mr West and Mr Zampella set up their own studio Respawn Entertainment and started developing games for EA, Activision’s archrival. EA has said that the settlement represents a victory for the developers.
Although the details of the deal is unknown, Activision has said that the size of the settlement would not significantly affect its earnings.
