Supermarket Asda will stock a range of Acme consumer electronics accessories from April.

The European vendor - whose products are distributed in the UK by Exertis Gem - told PCR at Distree EMEA 2014 that its new carry cases have been picked up by the retailer.

Acme was established in 1993 and is a wholesale supplier of computer components and raw materials for the IT industry, as well as a distributor of movies in the Baltic market.

From 2007 to 2008, the firm introduced different lifestyle accessories such as a new range of headphones and bags. Today it operates in 36 markets; in the UK its products are already stocked by Maplin and Dixons Retail.

"The focus for us in the future is universal tablet accessories," Acme Europe product developments director Ignas Rumbutis told PCR. "These stylish mid-end products will be coming out in June.

"We've had a good start in the UK and we are happy with the market."

Acme said it achieved growth of between 20 to 30 per cent last year.
