Acer unveils new Aspire Switch device, updates Iconia One 7 tablet

Acer has bolstered its Aspire Switch range with the addition of the Switch 11 V (pictured in thumbnail), and has revealed an updated Iconia One 7 tablet.

The two-in-one Switch 11 V notebook comes with an improved Acer Snap Hinge 2 design, which can be used in four different modes including notebook, pad, display and tent.

Content can be viewed across its 11.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080, while images can be captured with its 5MP rear-facing camera and 1MP front-facing camera.

4GB of RAM is available with the Switch, along with the option of 60 or 128GB SSD memory, while an Intel Core-M fanless processor powers the model.

Priced at £499.99, it boasts Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, a chiclet keyboard, a five degree typing angle, as well as the Acer VisionCare suite, which includes Acer BlueLightShield to help reduce eye strain by decreasing the blue light emitted from the screen.

Linda Hassall, head of marketing at Acer UK, said: “Changing the shape to a more ergonomic design, and improving processing, graphics, audio, display and battery means the new Switch 11 V can easily cover anything from presentations at work to reading on your commute to streaming HD movies in your downtime at home.”

In addition, Acer has unveiled a newer version of the Iconia One 7 tablet (pictured above), which is available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB variants.

It packs a 1.3Ghz quad-core Cortex processor, a 0.3MP front-facing camera and a 2MP rear-facing camera, and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The seven-inch HD screen can display content with a resolution of 1280×720, and the device is priced at £99.99.

This news comes after Acer expanded its range of curved monitors with two new products.
