Synology introduces five-year warranty for its XS Series NAS servers

Acer, Synology improve warranty offerings

Computing vendor Acer and NAS specialist Synology have improved their separate warranty programmes.

Synology has announced a free five-year warranty for its XS/XS+ NAS servers and expansion units, including the RS10613xs+, RS3614xs+, RS3614xs, RS3614RPxs, RX1213sas, RX1214, and RX1214RP.

“As data storage constitutes the backbone of successful business operations nowadays, we want our customers to know that Synology stands firmly behind the servers they purchase,” said Rosiel Lee, senior sales and marketing manager. “The five-year warranty demonstrates unreserved commitment to and confidence in our products, which can only be made possible by our industry-leading quality and reliability.”

Synology has also launched the 12-bay RackStation RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs units, which are aimed at larger businesses.

Acer, meanwhile, has extended the ‘Acer Reliability Promise’ to its B6 monitor series and P5 projector series.

Customers who purchase a qualifying product between June 20th and December 31st 2014 and register it within 30 days will be eligible to claim a 50 per cent refund off the price paid (if the product is repaired under warranty within the first year).

The ‘Acer Reliability Promise’ targets enterprise, public sector and SMB customers. The program was initially launched for TravelMate notebooks in August 2013, and extended to Veriton desktops in April 2014.

The reliability promise covers up to 50 PCs per end-user company.
