Computer giant Acer has predicted that its laptop and netbook sales will grow by 20 to 25 per cent throughout the current quarter, while desktop sales remain flat.
The company has also forecast growth of 25 to 35 per cent in its laptop segment for 2009.
“People are still going in to shops and buying notebooks,” observed Acer CEO Gianfranco Lanci. “2009 probably won’t be as good as 2008, but it will still be good.”
Acer’s revenues grew by 31 per cent in the last quarter, with net profit growing to $3.04 billion.
