PC vendor Acer’s global shipments grew by 34.2 per cent in Q2 compared to the same period last year.
The growth gives it an overall market share of 13.5 per cent – leaving it just 0.1 per cent behind Dell, with HP holding on to the top spot.
The biggest gains were made in the US, with a 74.2 per cent jump in shipments recorded in the region.
“In my opinion, Acer’s first-quarter results reflect the resiliency of our multi-brand strategy in a very challenging global economy," said Acer CEO and president Gianfranco Lanci. "We executed it well and were able to introduce in the market outstanding products responding to precise customers’ needs. We will continue investments to further enhance product offerings and expand our customers’ satisfaction.”
