As we head towards the big VIP dealer event on Wednesday May 2nd, PCR speaks to the sponsors of PCR Retail Boot Camp.

PCR RETAIL BOOT CAMP PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: TP-Link

Here PCR talks to Gold Partner TP-Link UK’s country manager Eric Wang about his company’s plans for the conference & expo, and beyond…

How important is it for the UK PC industry to have a dedicated event for retailers?
A dedicated retail event is crucial to the industry. To remain competitive retailers are constantly looking for the next up and coming brand that will provide them with attractive products at attractive prices. The PCR Bootcamp is an opportunity for both manufacturers and retailers to meet and start meaningful discussions to drive both businesses forward.

What do you see being the key issues facing PC retailers in 2011?
Consumers are increasingly price sensitive, shopping around for the best deal. Retailers can’t always compete on price so there is increasing pressure to grab market share by focusing on educating customers and providing excellent customer service.

What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?
Will we be taking some of the products show cased at CES?

Why should retailers look out for the TP-Link stand at the PCR Retail Boot Camp?
As the quantity of connected consumer products increases so does the importance of a stable and robust network. TP-LINK provides consumers with just that, easy to use, secure and fast solutions for every possible networking scenario.

What are the key brands/products you carry?
Right now we are experiencing phenomenal demand for our Powerline products, dual band wireless routers and USB network adapters. We also anticipate a lot of demand for the new VoIP products that are due by the middle of 2012.

What are your projections for 2012?
It is truly the dawn of the Information Age; as Cloud based services become mainstream there is increasing pressure to be connected at all times and there is no excuse for slow or interrupted internet connections. As a result I can see a huge demand for dual band and mobile routers that enable to establish and maintain that quality connection.

What distinguishes you from your competitors?
Nobody wants to learn how to use a product, they want simplicity. TP-LINK puts a lot of effort into providing products that are simple and intuitive to use so the consumer has a great user experience each time which builds brand loyalty going forward.

PCR Retail Boot Camp is an exciting new conference and expo for the UK PC and IT channel, taking place on Wednesday May 2nd at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London.
