Stick a note in your diary now for next year’s VIP PC/tech dealer event at The Brewery, London

PCR Boot Camp returns on Wednesday May 29th 2013

After its successful debut earlier this month, the PCR Boot Camp event will be back on Wednesday May 29th 2013. And you can register your interest in attending now.

Over 250 PC and IT dealers registered for the PCR Boot Camp, a new one-day conference and expo, which took place at the beginning of May. The day featured a conference in the morning, with speakers including Steven May from Innergie, ‘The Retail Champion’ Clare Rayner, GfK’s Carl West, Micro-P’s Mike Harris and BBC Breakfast News’ Penny Haslam.

You can watch highlights of the conference here.

After a free lunch, the expo opened, with Partners including Innergie (Headline Partner), Micro-P (Connected Home Partner), GData, VIP Computers, Arctic, Westcoast, Lygo/Turtle Beach, EntaTech, ESET and Zotac/Kuoda (Platinum Partners), plus AVG, AOC, Philips, Avance Technologies, Computers Unlimited, Koch Media, Autotask, Samsung, TP Link, Wasp, Synaxon, Realtime Distribution, Avance, Cisco and Hama (Gold Partners). CompTIA, Brigantia and the Network Group were Associate Partners of the event.

An After Show Drinks Reception, sponsored by VIP Computers, took place at the exclusive Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, just opposite The Brewery, where all dealers picked up a VIP Gift Bag, including an Apple TV, worth £99.

The event was warmly received by both Partners and dealers who attended.

“We were exceptionally pleased with the impact that created by our headline sponsorship of the first PCR Boot Camp,” said Innergie’s UK and Ireland country manager Steven May. “Intent Media Team facilitated our engagement with all of the UK PC retailing market. Additionally the format ensured that all of the attendees were able to maximise their day with informative presentations from industry leaders and specialists. Innergie are already looking forward to making a significant impact across the UK market as a direct result of our efforts on the day and with the follow up from the show. Thank you for a tremendous day, see you all next year!”

Micro-P’s head of independent retail Mike Harris added: “PCR Boot Camp provided Micro-P with the ideal platform to tell our Connected Home story and the fantastic opportunity it presents to the retailer. Since the event Micro-P has received a huge level of positive interest and would like thank everyone who attended and, of course, PCR for the opportunity”

“Those that missed the event altogether will have missed a wonderful opportunity to engage with suppliers and add value to their business,” added Westcoast’s sales and marketing director Alex Tatham. “Westcoast will certainly be attending future events and my advice to all PCR readers is to make it one of the first dates you put in your diary next year."

Dealers, too, were complimentary of the event. “I very much enjoyed the PCR Retail Boot Camp,” said Paul Odell of Paul’s Computer Services. “The speakers gave me some ideas. Perhaps it was the atmosphere, but for me the expo part of the Boot Camp was much better than the normal trade shows are, I even opened a couple of trade accounts. Free coffee, lunch and even an Apple TV. What more could I ask for?“

Next year’s PCR Boot Camp will follow the same winning one-day formula, but we welcome further feedback/suggestions. Simply email Lisa.Carter@intentmedia.co.uk.

Dealers can register their interest in attending the event on Wednesday May 29th 2013 by emailing pcrbootcamp@intentmedia.co.uk or by visiting the dedicated website at www.pcrbootcamp.com.
