Novatech sponsors Portsmouth University’s esports society

Novatech has partnered up with the Portsmouth Universities esports society at this year’s freshers fair.

UOP esports society is an organisation run by the students of Portsmouth University, first established in November 2018. Created to give the students a chance to compete in esports events in the University Scene, it provides a network and platforms for university students to compete in national events.

This year, Novatech teamed up with UOP esports society at the Portsmouth university freshers fair providing an insight into their new Reign Gaming PC.

With a total of 124 members, the UOP esports society also known as the Portsmouth Paladins, is the universities third-largest common interest society despite only starting 10 months ago.

The Portsmouth Paladins compete in both the Nuel and NSE which are both university esports leagues. Novatech will be sponsoring this years Big Game, taking place between the 1st – 3rd November 2019. The Big Game is an annual gaming event that takes place three times a year, and this year the UOP esports society will also be attending the event.

“We’ve been working with the Portsmouth Paladins for just over 12 months now from providing their members with PCs at Insomnia65, as well as PCs and kit to run events at NUEL events in the Union and other events such as The Big Game in Southampton. With lots more coming soon we’re very excited about the future partnership between us,” commented Novatech’s Toby Ahearn.

Novatech provided the UOP esports society with gaming equipment for their stand for students to have a hands-on experience before deciding to join the society.
