The rugged tech market is also up ten per cent year-on-year

VIP Computers secures distribution rights for Durabook

VIP Computers has obtained distribution rights for Durabook’s range of rugged mobile computing products in the UK and Ireland.

Its portfolio of products includes tablet PCs, mobile computers, medical tablet PCs as well as customised motherboards and systems. These are for use on the road or in the office and have been adopted by such industries as government, the military, utilities, field services, transportation, healthcare and insurance.

The 3G devices boast drop, shock and spill-proof features enabling users to work in harsh environments without the risk of data or performance losses.

The rugged tech market is currently on the rise, with notebook shipments hitting around $275 million in Q3 last year, which was a ten per cent year-on-year increase.

The rugged tablet market also grew by more than 20 per cent over the past two years.

Martin Carter, business manager at VIP Computers, said: “The rugged market is very much on the increase and VIP have seen this growth and secured the distribution rights for Durabook.

“This represents a fantastic opportunity for resellers to capitalise on the growing demand throughout 2015 and beyond. Durabook is one of the key players in the industry and we will be launching with their full range of devices and accessories”.

Durabook’s international business and sales manager, George Chu, added: “We are pleased to have VIP Computers represent Durabook in the UK and Ireland. Our new partnership offers resellers an efficient supply chain solution providing shorter lead-times, local services and quicker response times to enquiries.”

In other news, VIP Computers will be at the PCR Boot Camp this year, offering some exclusive indie retail incentives.
