Borderlands 2 loses its grip as Steam discounts push previously successful titles

Steam charts: CoD: MW3 shoots its way back to the top

The biggest game of the year has fallen short after just one week as Borderlands 2 not only loses the top spot in the retail PC charts, but also in the Steam charts.

No doubt aided by a 50 per cent sale price, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has seen a resurgence, which has carried the massively popular shooter back to the top of the chart.

Meanwhile, upcoming strategy title XCOM: Enemy Unknown sits at third with an impressive number of pre-orders ahead of its release on October 11th.
