The controversial video game seeks funding on Kickstarter

Carmageddon set to return to PC

Stainless Games is aiming to release Carmageddon: Reincarnation by raising $400,000 on Kickstarter by June 6th.

The original Carmageddon was released on PC back in 1997 and although being heavily criticised for its excessive violence, sold over two million copies.

After years of negotiations, Stainless Games finally bought back all the right to Carmageddon from publisher Square Enix and the developers are now able to reboot the brand.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation is a re-boot of everything that gamers loved about the original, such as its real-world environments and action replays of ghastly collisions.

Kickstarter enables backers of the project to pledge different amounts of money in exchange for exclusive content. Anyone pledging $1,000 or more will be immortalised within the game, having their face mapped onto a selection of in-game pedestrian victims.
