At a special event in London last week, Microsoft launched its new Surface Go device into the UK market.

The smallest and lightest Surface device yet, the Go is a two-in-one device with a 10-inch screen. It is 8.3mm thin and weighs just 1.15 pounds. It also boasts nine hours of battery life and is able to run Office apps.

Broadcaster, traveller and adventurer Ben Fogle attended the event and tested out his artistic skills on the portable device.

The Surface Go is available to buy now from the Microsoft Store, priced from £379.

In other Microsoft news, at this year’s IFA, the firm announced details about its next major update to Windows 10.

Previously codenamed Redstone 5 and now officially called the ‘October 2018 Update’, the update will feature a ‘dark mode’ for File Explorer, a number of upgrades to Microsoft Edge, improved Xbox Game Mode, and a cloud-powered clipboard which can be synced across different devices.

The October update is expected to be available for testing via the Windows Insider program by early October, with a roll out to regular users soon after.
