New Mad Catz R.A.T.AIR wireless mouse now shipping in Europe

Gaming hardware brand Mad Catz has announced the European shipping of its new R.A.T.AIR wireless mouse.

The new mouse promises “uncompromising wireless gameplay”, thanks to cutting-edge electrical capacitor technology resulting in no lag, no batteries and peerless performance.

Available to purchase across select European territories, the R.A.T.AIR is designed for both casual and competitive gamers. Comprised of two individual components, the R.A.T.AIR ships with the mouse itself as well as the Activation Board. Plugging into the gamer’s PC via USB, the Activation Board provides constant power to the mouse itself wirelessly. Allowing the mouse to operate with no need for batteries, the Activision Board is so powerful, that the R.A.T.AIR even remains powered for a limited amount of time when lifted from the board itself, crucial for those who value ‘lift-off’ play. For those who steadfastly demand a wired connection, gamers can unplug the connection to the Activation Board and directly connect the mouse to wired USB, offering a hybrid solution for all.

Weighing in at just 100g, the mouse’s OMRON switches have been tested to an impressive 20 million clicks. In addition, the R.A.T.AIR features a powerful 12000 DPI optical sensor which can be precisely calibrated in X, Y and Z axes to suit the exact requirements of any game. The lift-off height is fully programmable to millimetre precision.

A hallmark of the R.A.T. range, the R.A.T.AIR features the Precision Aim button, allowing gamers to slow down DPI at the touch of a button, perfect for steadying nerves in sniper mode or simply program as you wish to re-load with speed. With a further 9 programmable buttons and 4 separate gamer profile modes, the R.A.T.AIR provides is customisable with up to 40 individual commands available on hand.

Mad Catz’ drag-and-drop F.L.U.X. software enables gamers to endlessly customise profiles. Gamers can also personalise how the R.A.T.AIR feels in the palm of their hand with an adjustable Palm Rest featuring three different length settings. Both the R.A.T.AIR and its accompanying Activation Board are styled with Chameleon RGB lighting.

“Mad Catz has always been at the forefront of innovation with our gaming hardware and as the newest addition, the R.A.T.AIR is no different. We’ve long understood gamers’ need for the freedom that wireless play offers but understand their need for complete reliability when playing at a competitive level.” said Joane Huang, senior director of sales and marketing for Mad Catz.

“Every aspect of the R.A.T.AIR has been designed with the single purpose of improving performance for gamers everywhere, using the very latest in engineering innovation. We’re looking forward to sharing the R.A.T.AIR with gamers later this year.”
