Samsung will reportedly unveil its latest Note product at the Mobile Unpacked event this month.

New Galaxy Note slated for August

Samsung has confirmed that it will announce its latest Galaxy Note at the Mobile Unpacked event, which takes place in Berlin on August 29th.

The South Korean company reportedly confirmed its plans to Reuters.

"We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29," a Samsung spokesperson said.

Rumours surrounding the device indicate it will include a larger 5.5-inch display, 1.7Ghz dual-core processor and a 12 megapixel camera, whilst shipping complete with a newer Android OS.

It follows the launch of Samsung’s flagship smartphone – the Samsung Galaxy S III, which has already sold more than 10 million units of the device during its first two months of release.

However, AllThingsD has reported that whilst Samsung has confirmed the event, it did not state if a product would be unveiled.

"We can confirm the unpacked event will take place on August 29th, but we cannot disclose information on what will be unveiled," a spokesperson told AllThingsD.

As Samsung and Apple are locked in a heated court battle, it is interesting to note that the August 29th date is just weeks before the rumoured release of Apple’s new iPhone.

Samsung launched the original Galaxy Note in 2011 with its 5.3inch screen and Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which has now sold over seven million units.
