Modus Brands snaps up Insta360 Pro 2 distribution

Specialist distributor Modus Brands has added the brand new Insta360 Pro 2 – a six-lens professional VR camera with the ability to shoot 8K-per-eye 3D 360 video – to its portfolio of products.

“Insta360 is the market leader in 360-degree cameras and its technologies have enabled economic barriers to be lowered, allowing consumers and professionals alike to produce interactive 360-degree video and photos,” says Modus. “Its Pro 2 features FlowState stabilisation, long-range live monitoring, simplified post-production in partnership with Adobe, and new technologies that deliver 8K VR to viewers.”

Since it began working with Insta360, Modus Brands has primarily focused on educating retailers and end users with the potential of 360 cameras and significantly expanding its customer reach.

David Feakins, CEO of Modus Brands, commented: “The standard of the newly launched Pro 2 and the technology used is just one example of Insta360 striving to innovate in an increasingly competitive market. We’re always excited to see the new products Insta360 is working on and are thrilled to continue our relationship with the business.”

Modus Brands held a launch event for the Insta360 Pro 2 and invited media, key influencers, professional users and business customers to The Bloomsbury Building in London. At the event, employees from both Modus Brands and Insta360 presented the product, giving hands-on demonstrations of the new features.

“The event was a great success and everyone was really impressed with the new features of the Insta360 Pro 2. The company has clearly listened to user feedback and the product is very much focused around this,” commented Feakins.

Since its beginnings in 2007, Modus Brands has worked with a number of photography and video vendors, such as DJI and Incase, to help them expand into the UK market.

“It’s always great working with Modus Brands on new product launches. The Insta360 Pro 2 launch event was a huge success and connected us to our retailers, customers and business users,” said Insta360’s Tony Liu.

Available shooting modes include 8K 3D at 30 FPS, 8K monoscopic at 60 FPS, 6K 3D at 60 FPS, and 4K 3D at 120 FPS, among others. New in-camera HCR keeps lighting natural, even when it varies in every direction.

Having recently announced record growth of 50% throughout the 2017-18 financial year, Modus Brands has also recently announced its partnerships with Incase and Gnarbox.
