Channel conference and expo opens with address from headline partner

Microsoft kicks off morning conference at PCR Boot Camp

The PCR Boot Camp conference has begun, opening with a welcome speech from Microsoft’s OEM distribution and reseller sales manager Nicola Young.

Young started the day by highlighting the recent launches from Microsoft, including Windows 8, Windows Server and Office 365 and noted that these products demonstrated just how important the channel is to Microsoft’s market strategy.

“Windows XP is due to reach end of service within the next year, which brings a range of opportunities in Windows 8,” stated Young. “There are also new hardware launches coming from people like Intel and Nvidia that, together with Windows 8, are bringing new opportunities to the marketplace and to you.

“For the first time, we’ve brought Office out as a service offering recurring revenue and great offers that you can bring to your customers. We’ve also launched Windows Server, which helps you bring small businesses their first servers and learn to take advantage of the cloud.”
