Linux version could be released in 2014

Microsoft considering Linux version of Office

Microsoft is taking a ‘meaningful look’ at releasing a full Linux port of Office.

According to ExtremeTech, Microsoft is intending to develop a version of Office for Android, which is a Linux-based operating system, meaning bring Office to Ubuntu could definitely be on the cards.

It is expected that a Linux version will be made available in 2014, and if Microsoft does go ahead with this, it will be the first time ever the firm has offered a Linux version of its software.
