Apple event could come back early next year

MacExpo set to return?

Negotiations are underway for the return of MacExpo, the sorely missed trade day and exposition for all things Apple in the UK.

Eddie Milton, the organiser of the original MacExpo, is negotiating the return, and he’s supported by the former executive director of the Mac Technology Association, Robert Peckham.

Although it’s early days, PCR can reveal that the organisers are aiming to hold the show, which may be rebranded as ‘The Mac Show’, at London’s ExCeL centre on January 29th and 30th. The event may also incorporate a trade aspect.

“We’re driving it primarily as an end-user show. So if the channel wants to set up a stand then they’ll be welcome to,” Peckham told PCR.

When asked what the focus of the new show would be, Peckham pointed out that the iOS-based mobile devices like the iPad and iPhone had been the driving force for the renewed interest in the MacWorld Expo in the US, and that the UK show would “unquestionably be the same.”
