Looking back on Black Friday: Ebuyer enjoys record sales

Online electronics retailer Ebuyer.com has reported record sales and traffic figures over the 2015 Black Friday deal period.

The etailer reported a 20 per cent year-on-year traffic increase, with the number of people on-site up 30 per cent at peak. Mobile traffic also rose on the Friday, with a 25 per cent gain year-on-year.

Sales were also boosted by the increase in traffic and deals, with Ebuyer.com almost doubling its sales revenue from a previous record high in 2014, on the same day. Ebuyer.com also reported a 66 per cent rise in B2B sales.

Computing was Ebuyer’s top selling category this Black Friday, with the HP 250 G4 Laptop proving to be most popular, and the Lenovo B50 selling out.

Ebuyer said in a statement: "Black Friday has become a key sales day in the etailer’s calendar after record figures in 2013 and 2014. Although a number of retailers choose to play down the sales period, Ebuyer.com was committed to blending both Black Friday and Cyber Monday (the following Monday) into their plans."

Ebuyer.com’s head of marketing Graham New added: "Customers expect the very best from retailers during this period, we took a lot of feedback away from Black Friday 2014 and were able to apply them to this year.

"As a company we worked very closely with our suppliers to ensure that we had market leading offers on the day, as well as significantly improving our mobile experience in the run up to peak, which we’ve seen translate directly into traffic and sales."

The etailer says it’s hopeful that the momentum from Black Friday will continue into the Christmas period.
