Kaspersky to join security Hall of Fame

Security software boss Eugene Kaspersky is set to be inducted into the Infosecurity Europe 2010 Hall of Fame today, after addressing attendees of the security event this morning.

The accolade recognises the Kaspersky Lab CEO and co-founder’s contribution to the IT security industry over more than two decades.

Also being inducted to the Hall of Fame are Lord Erroll; Stephen Bonner, managing director of information risk management at Barclays and Edward Gibson, PricewaterhouseCoopers’ director of forensic technology services.

Eugene Kaspersky was also awarded CEO of the Year at the 2010 SC Awards Europe in London on Monday evening. He was applauded as he collected his award at the event hosted by IT security publication SC Magazine, at the Wyndham Grand hotel in Chelsea Harbour.

Eugene Kaspersky said: "I am truly honoured to have the hard work and significant progress made by our team around the world recognised here in London. Kaspersky Lab’s continued success is built on hard work and determination to make the world a more secure place. It is my privilege to lead them."
