Music and entertainment retailer HMV is on the brink of a second collapse in six years, potentially placings thousands of jobs in danger.
According to Sky News, the retailer filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators last week.
Sources said that the chain has been in talks in recent days with leading names in the recorded music industry to seek financial support.
HMV trades from 130 shops and employs around 2,200 people.
The retailer first fell into administration in January 2013. Three months later, Hilco signed a deal to see the restructuring firm take on around 141 HMV stores, nine Fopp outlets and around 2,500 employees.
