Google’s Nexus 7 Wi-Fi tablet has been released in the UK, with O2 claiming exclusivity over the 4G-ready version due for release on September 13th.
The Wi-Fi version of the tablet has already been released on August 28th, as ASUS previously announced, but details concerning the upcoming 4G-ready model have now also been confirmed by ASUS.
O2 claim the 4G-capable version of the updated bestselling Android tablet. The 4G Nexus 7 will be exclusively available in O2 stores when it’s released on September 13th, with the Wi-Fi model, which can already be found in PC World and Currys, also there to be purchased.
The 16GB Wi-Fi Nexus 7 starts at £200, with the 32GB coming in at £250 in O2 stores. The 4G model can be preordered on O2’s site now, costing £320 and coming with a free £30 case for those who buy it before its release.
Google’s Nexus 7, which runs Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) is manufactured by ASUS, and sports 2GB of RAM, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, a five megapixel 1080p-recording rear camera and a quad-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. As previously revealed, the processor powers a display said by ASUS to be “the world’s sharpest 7” tablet screen” with over 2.3 million pixels on-screen. Apps for the Nexus 7 are found on Google’s Play store.

ASUS regional manager Jonathon Santaub added: “The Nexus 7 sets a new benchmark for tablets."
