Official PC vendor partners and systems ready to power the upcoming Oculus Rift virtual reality headset have been revealed.

Oculus has added a page to its website listing the partners, which include ASUS, Dell and Alienware.

Customers can pre-order the systems from February 16th, which start from $949 each. However, in order to get them at that price, customers must also pre-order a Rift.

The Rift currently costs $599 or £499 in the UK, and will officially launch next month, meaning the lowest bundle price is $1,548.

Billed as 'high performance PCs', Oculus says it has "partnered with top manufacturers of PC systems and components to provide a range of systems that are optimized for Rift".

"They’ve been designed, assembled, and tested with Rift in mind, so you can be confident they’ll deliver a great VR experience," the VR vendor said in a statement.

The Oculus-ready systems include the ASUS G11CD and ROG G20CB desktops, the Alienware X51 and the Dell XPS 8900 Special Edition.

NVIDIA also has a VR-ready program. The firm has partnered with PC and notebook makers and add-in card providers to deliver GeForce GTX VR-ready systems and graphics cards.

AMD also has its LiquidVR program to help developers create VR experiences.
