PCR Women of the year winners revealed

The full list of winners from the PCR Women of the Year 2015 awards has been revealed, with Maximity’s Tracy Pound becoming the 2016 PCR Woman of the Year.

Execs from the UK PC and tech industry gathered to celebrate female role models in the business, and enjoy an afternoon of networking. The event took place at London’s Sway Bar on Friday, October 13th.

The award winners are as follows:

  • Rising Star – Rebecca Williams, John Lewis
  • PR Powerhouse – Maggie Zaboura, Zaboura Communications
  • Business Mentor – Alexa Greaves, AAG Systems
  • Creative Marketeer – Kirsty Guy, Tech Data
  • Sales Brilliance – Alicia Shepherd, Entatech UK
  • Woman of the Year – Tracy Pound, Maximity

PCR Women of the Year 2015 was supported by Rising Star partner CompTIA

Leanne Johnson of CompTIA gave a rousing and inspirational speech about the necessity for women to be presented – and educated – positively in IT to show that it is possible for everyone to work in whatever career they want.

The winners were chosen by a panel of eight experts, based on testimonials from each of the finalist’s colleagues, bosses, or work contacts.

This was the third annual PCR Women of the Year awards ceremony, and was positively received by everyone in the room.

PCR deputy editor Jonathan Easton said: "It is important for us to recognise and promote the achievements of women in IT and tech. If anyone thinks that we don’t need ceremonies like this then they are either willfully ignorant or blind.

"But that’s why we’re here together. It is up to us in the room to redress the balance."
