Exertis unveils key management appointments

Exertis has announced a number of organisational changes to its European, UK and Ireland operations.

Paul Bryan, Exertis UK’s managing director will take on the added responsibility of the Irish business, supported by Rod McCarthy who becomes head of Ireland following John Dunne’s promotion to the new position of chief commercial officer, North America and Gerry O’Keeffe’s move to an international role responsible for expanding Exertis’ presence in existing and new territories.

McCarthy will report to Bryan with Dunne reporting to O’Keeffe. Both Bryan and O’Keeffe report to Tim Griffin, DCC Technology and Exertis Group managing director.

“These changes to our organisation reflect our evolving business and our strategic ambitions to expand geographically, leverage our capabilities across our territories and ensure we serve more customers with the products, solutions and services that enable them to grow,” said Griffin.

“I am confident that with the depth of experience and talent of our leadership team, we are in a great position to continue our successful transition into a service led, value-added distributor that provides specialist expertise and support for customers across a diverse range of technologies.”

The European and ME country managing directors and the CEOs of Jam Industries and Stampede (N.America, Latin America, Asia Pacific) will also report to O’Keeffe along with the EMEA category heads for Pro AV Solutions and Consumer Solutions.

In the UK and Ireland, Richard Hinds has been appointed to the new role of chief operating officer with responsibility for the finance, purchasing, IT, logistics and customer services functions.

Hinds was previously finance director for Exertis UK. In addition, Mike Buley has been appointed as managing director of Exertis’ consumer division. Buley has been instrumental in building the retail business at Exertis for more than a decade. Both report to Bryan.

Exertis has also announced key management appointments within its consumer division.

Mike Buley has been promoted to the new role of managing director for the division, continuing to report to Bryan. He will lead a strong and highly talented team of senior managers that have extensive experience and are widely respected within the retail sector.

“Mike has been instrumental in building our retail business for more than a decade. He has played a key role in developing our consumer division, managing the evolving requirements of a wide range of retail store and online customers that need to meet the demands of consumers in an increasingly competitive and challenging market,” said Bryan.

“Highly respected by his colleagues, by our vendors and by our customers for his drive, innovation, commitment and knowledge of the retail sector, Mike is the ideal person to implement the ambitious plans we have to grow our revenue and provide the products, solutions and services that enable our customers to create a great consumer experience.”

Reporting to Buley, the consumer division’s senior management team that will lead the business in its next phase of growth comprises of:

– Alex Croft, commercial director and Jon Sutherland, sales director – based in Harlow. Both take on an expanded role responsible for the following categories: gaming, leisure, peripherals, Microsoft, software, core electricals and accessories.

– Glen McClelland, sales and commercial director based in Harlow and responsible for premium audio and own branded products.

– Liam La Cumbre, commercial director, based in Basingstoke and responsible for consumer, commodity networks and Smart Tech, and supporting computing, TFT, print, components, and mobile.

– Mike Harris, sales director, based in Basingstoke and responsible for computing, commodity networks, components, mobile, consumer, visual, Smart Tech, print, accessories, UC devices, premium and own brands.
