Exertis has announced a distribution agreement with Kano Computing for its range of DIY computing kits.
Designed to make coding accessible to beginners of all ages, the Kano Computer Kit provides all the parts needed to construct a portable Linux-based computer, without the need for tools, using a comprehensive, but easy to follow, beginner-friendly instruction manual.
The Kano OS operating system together with the Story Mode app teach basic computing and programming concepts using a series of fun-packed coding challenges. The system also comes preloaded with a number of other educational apps created by Kano, including: Hack Minecraft, Make Pong, Make Snake, Make Art and Make Light.
Kano has also recently announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to launch the Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit: a first-of-its-kind, build-it-yourself, interactive wand which is now available in stores.
The wand works with iOS and Android tablets as well as Windows and Mac computers, includes 70 step-by-step challenges, and packs a gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer to detect its position. This enables creators to cast over 30 signature Wizarding World spells thanks to gesture recognition.
“The Kano Computer Kit teaches beginners important computing concepts and programming skills. It’s a complete package to get adults or kids understanding technology and code and can be used both in the home or in schools,” Alex Croft, Exertis Home, commercial director said.
“We are delighted to be offering this product to our retailers and on-line stores and expect it to be a great consumer product for Christmas and for teachers to use in primary education. The addition of the Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit will only add to the growing interest in the range.”
The Kano product range starts from £29.99 SRP for the Motion Sensor Kit, to £99.99 SRP for the Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit, and £149.99 SRP for the Computer Kit.
