Asus Nexus Player to launch in the UK this week

The Google Nexus Player entertainment system from Asus –which was announced last year – will hit UK shelves on March 26th, priced at £79.99 according to Amazon UK.

It has been available for purchase in the UK for sometime, however UK gamers can pre-order the games console unit and mini remote from Amazon UK now.

Users get the device with voice-activation, plus they can additionally purchase the gamepad controller for use with Android titles.

Everything recommended on the device is personalised to the user, who can sync content between Android devices and the TV.

A 1.8GHz quad core Intel Atom processor powers the machine, which features 802.11ac 2×2 (MIMO), a HDMI out and requires a monitor with HDMI input and cable as well as an internet connection.

The Google Play store can be accessed from the Nexus Player, boasting a host of games, music, movies and apps including Netflix, PBS Kids, YouTube, Vevo, Dailymotion and more.

For the gamers, the Nexus boasts personalised progress tracking and opens the door to free multiplayer online versions of games.
