ASUS launches ROG Strix XG49VQ super-wide gaming monitor

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced Strix XG49VQ, a super-ultra-wide 49-inch gaming monitor.

Featuring 144Hz refresh rate and 1800R curvature for the ultimate immersive gaming experience, the new display also comes with Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR, High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology with DCI-P3 90% professional colour gamut coverage and DisplayHDR 400 certification.

The ROG Strix XG49VQ’s 49-inch display is engineered with an 1800R curvature to provide

convincing immersion for “heightened gaming experiences and supreme flexibility for multitasking”. With a 32:9 aspect ratio and 3840 x 1080 resolution, the super-ultra-wide display provides the same effective viewing area as two side-by-side 27-inch monitors without a gap and bezel getting in the way of the view.

The ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ will be available from March 2019 in the UK.

ASUS has also announced the ProArt PA34VC, a 34.1-inch professional-grade curved monitor with UWQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and an IPS panel capable of reproducing 100% of the sRGB colour gamut that provides an immersive and colour-accurate viewing experience ideal for graphic designers, photographers and video producers.

Dual Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-CTM (USB-CTM) ports provide versatile connectivity with a wide range of devices and offer ultrafast data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps and Power Delivery of up to 60W to external devices, so users can conveniently attach and charge their laptop directly from ProArt PA34VC without the need for a separate power cable.

ProArt PA34VC also features built-in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) and Picture-by-Picture (PbP), enabling multiple content sources and colour settings to be displayed simultaneously.

The ASUS ProArt PA34VC will be available from April.
