Distributor VIP Computers UK has appointed Rich Marsden as managing director of sister company CMS Computers.
Marsden will continue his duties as VIP’s MD while taking on full commercial responsibility for the system builder, which will continue to trade independently.
Along with this appointment, VIP has also announced that it will be distributing Zoostorm’s PCs, laptops, and other consumer electronics in the UK.
“This change in the business comes at a time when VIP Group is looking to align its businesses to maximise growth opportunities. The move will help create a natural partnership for VIP and CMS to work more strategically together and extend the availability of Zoostorm the UK,” commenting Marsden.
“The CMS business will continue to trade independently but by partnering with VIP UK as a distribution partner, we can take advantage of some of the very strong relationships we have with leading retailers and resellers.”
Marsden’s appointment follows a reorganisation of the business and the departure of director Ian Fraser.
PC brand Zoostorm offers a range of devices, including gaming systems, entry-level desktops, small form factors, all-in-ones, Windows and Android tablets, 2-in-1s, touch-screen laptops and media players.
Zoostorm will be available to independent retailers from 1st May 2016 and will be previewed at the forthcoming VIP Club Roadshow in Manchester later this month.
Additional availability to be announced over the coming weeks.
Marsden became the UK MD of VIP in February. He was formally VIP UK’s sales director, has worked within the firm’s group of companies for over 16 years after previously holding a director role at Realtime Distribution.
