Tech Data appoints new business exec for Microsoft SP scheme

Tech Data has appointed Oscar Ulander as its dedicated business development executive (BDE) to drive activity on Microsoft’s Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) scheme.

The scheme gives resellers a way to offer Microsoft solutions as part of their own hosted service.

Ulander was previously part of the Microsoft business development team. He will now be 100 per cent focused on spreading the word about SPLA and supporting partners on every aspect of the programme.

SPLA enables partners to offer their own independently hosted Microsoft cloud services to end-user customers.

“There is growing demand for assistance on Microsoft SPLA and as a leading distributor for the vendor, Tech Data is ideally-placed to offer additional support on the scheme,” said Mark Whittle, Microsoft Business Manager at Tech Data.

“With the momentum towards the cloud building all the time, SPLA is becoming more relevant to more Microsoft partners. It is now much easier for services resellers to see how SPLA fits into their overall proposition. By providing this additional and dedicated support, we’re hoping we can help more partners to get on board and actively making use of SPLA.

“Interest in the scheme is growing and we’ve brought Oscar onto the team to ensure we can keep up with the level of enquiries. As a leading Microsoft distributor it’s part of our role to help Microsoft partners start to understand how they can benefit from and participate in programmes like SPLA.”
