VIP Computers has announced that Rich Marsden will take on the role of the distributor’s new UK managing director.
Marsden, who was formally VIP UK’s sales director, has worked within the firm’s group of companies for over 16 years after previously holding a director role at Realtime Distribution.
“Rich has played a pivotal part in the delivery of a strategy that has strengthened VIP UK’s position in the IT distribution channel," said VIP Group Chairman Jatti Sahni.
"I am very confident in the current management teams’ ability to continue to grow our UK business and having Rich at the helm will ensure VIP can respond to the challenges of a highly competitive industry. I wish him well in his new role at VIP UK.”
In response to his appointment, Marsden added: “There are exciting times ahead for VIP UK and there are plans in the pipeline that will see continued growth for the company. I’m looking forward to implementing those plans; it is a great time to be at VIP which has a very positive future.”
PCR announced last month that VIP’s director of 11 years, Duncan McAuley, would be stepping down from his role.
Commenting on his departure, McAuley said: “Having been with VIP UK for over a decade I feel that now is the right time for me to step out of the business. VIP UK has just announced its best-ever half-yearly results, based upon a sound strategy that is delivering solid growth and profitability. Over the past year VIP has strengthened its foundations to offer great opportunities to its vendors and customers.”
