Tech Data’s specialist solutions business Maverick AV Solutions has appointed Robert Cross as its new business manager for the Nordic region.

Cross will oversee the Maverick teams in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, with a focus on improving international sales, channel account management and developing new and existing relationships within the region.

Previously manager of client services development for Polycom, Cross has worked within strategic managerial roles in the AV industry for more than five years, overseeing partnerships with vendors, managing sales training and global installations and increasing revenue for integration partners.

He has created long standing relationships with well-known brands in the converging AV/IT space, which Maverick says makes him the perfect choice to lead its growing Nordics team.

“I have admired what Maverick offers its customers for some time. The collaborative solutions and portfolio for corporate applications are second to none in the market at the moment, and I am thrilled to now be part of the team,” said Cross.

“I have been managing the services portfolio for Polycom in the Nordics and Benelux for the past year and a half, and this experience has prepared me very well to support the growing place which VC plays in all parts of AV, as well as business life.”

Maverick’s growth journey continues with Jon Sidwick, senior vice president, Maverick AV Solutions, leading the expansion of the business into all Tech Data’s regions globally as announced in late 2017.

Sidwick said: “The decision to appoint Robert was not a difficult one; our expansion globally means we need to make all of our teams as strong as possible and the Nordics region is growing rapidly for Maverick. Robert’s attitude is one of a team player and someone that our vendors and customers will enjoy interacting with as we continue our development in the region into 2019.”
