Apple and Samsung CEOs agree to meet to discuss two-year legal battle

Apple and Samsung’s CEOs have greed to attend a mediation session to discuss settling a legal battle over designs and technologies of their mobile devices.

Apple’s Tim Cook and Samsung’s Oh-Hyun Kwon will meet by or before February 19th.

The agreement was made in response to a court order to submit a proposal for settlement discussion before a new trial begins in March.

The legal battle began back in 2011 when Apple accused Samsung of copying the iPhone and iPad. Samsung later claimed Apple used its technologies without permissions.

In the last two years, Apple and Samsung have gone to trial twice in San Jose, California federal court, with juries awarding Apple a totally of around $930 million.
