TD Synnex celebrates IWD by embracing equity

TD Synnex colleagues in the UK and Ireland will be celebrating International Women’s Day on Wednesday 08 March 2023 by running a series of activities designed to raise awareness and recognise the immense contribution women make to its business and to the industry as a whole.

The agenda will be centred on this year’s International Women’s Day theme #embracingequity and will include a live talk by Gifty Enright, author of the book Octopus on a Treadmill. The session will be hosted at the TD Synnex’s new Basingstoke office and will be streamed for remote workers and people in other TD Synnex locations.

In addition, the company will announce updated plans for its internal awards scheme recognising the contributions and achievements of women to TD Synnex in the UK and Ireland. The awards scheme has been running successfully for two years and a new list of categories will be open for entry from 08 March.

The programme is being led by panel members of the Elevate business resource group, which includes co-workers from every part of the organisation. Alison Nixon, director, security, and co-chair of the UK&I Elevate panel at TD Synnex, is expecting a high level of interest and engagement across the company: “I just can’t stress strongly enough how truly passionate we are about equity and inclusion at TD Synnex – and that passion runs through the entire business. It’s vitally important to recognise the contribution women make to our business and we want to make March 8th a day to raise awareness of the differentiating factors that may prevent women from reaching their true potential in business. We want TD Synnex to continue be a great place to work that empowers and celebrates difference to help women and all co-workers to achieve more.”

TD Synnex’s BRGs provide positive forums for the company’s co-workers to discuss common experiences and goals with individuals of like or similar interests. Elevate has been operational in the UK and Ireland for more than three years. The Spectrum BRG, which provides support for LGBTQ+ co-workers launched in June 2021; while Embrace, which celebrates racial, cultural and religious differences, has been running since March 2022. A fourth BRG, Limitless, for people with disabilities or neurodiversity will be launching soon.
