Tech Data has appointed Mark Stewart as Independent Retail Channel Manager. He takes immediate responsibility for leading the team and building strong partnerships with retail customers of all sizes.
Stewart spent the last five years as SMB Sales Manager and joined Tech Data ten years ago. He will lead a dedicated team that provides focused support and account management, ensuring that independent retailers take full advantage of the specialist services available from Tech Data.
Commenting on his appointment, Stewart said: “I’m excited to be moving into this rapidly-growing area of our business. We have such a lot to offer and over the next few months we will be looking to strengthen our relationships and extend our services to more independent retailers and webstores.”
Ross Turner, Head of Retail Sales, Tech Data, UK and Ireland, said: “Over the last few months, we have demonstrated that we can provide the dependable, reliable support and services that retailers need in these challenging times, whether it’s providing extended credit to ensure they can close opportunities, managing stock so that they can continue to meet demand, or providing innovations that present new ways to appeal and add value to customers, through trade-in deals or subscription-based services. We have big plans for 2021 to assist retailers and provide them with services that will support them in an environment that is changing faster than ever.”
Tech Data services for independent retailers include: Stock management and consignment services; pre-sales configuration; launch planning and allocation; subscription and flexible finance options; credit planning and management trade-in and re-cycling (through the Tech-as-a-Service and Tech Data Renew programmes); specialist POS development; exclusive vendor offers; electronic software delivery (ESD); and on-boarding to vendor partner programmes.
