Target launches Ship To Shop discounted delivery scheme

Target Components has launched a Ship To Shop delivery scheme in partnership with couriers DPD. The scheme allows customers to have deliveries shipped to a local shop for a flat-rate charge of just £5.

Shipments are guaranteed next-day pre-12 and include both Saturday and Sunday deliveries. Customers can then collect at their convenience any time within seven days.

Commenting on the service, Target’s MD Paul Cubbage, said: “We’re constantly looking for better, cheaper, and quicker ways to service our customers, and DPD’s ship to shop offering ticks all the boxes.

“The two main concerns with shipments are cost and reliability. We completed 2019 with a new record of 99.95% order accuracy – our sixth record year in a row, and a great testament to our warehouse team. But obviously the closer we get to 100% the less scope there is to improve.

“We’ve worked with DPD for a number of years, and having previously worked with just about every other courier, we find them by far the most reliable. That means we’re increasingly hard pressed to find ways to make our shipments even more reliable.”

Cubbage concluded: “What’s brilliant about this scheme is that it both reduces cost and adds an additional level of convenience for the customer – no longer needing to be available on site at a specified time slot. To have guaranteed next day pre 12 deliveries – including weekends – for just £5 is a fantastic service, and I’m sure it will be hugely popular with our customers.”
