Diffblue has announced Mathew Lodge as the company’s new CEO. Most recently the SVP of products and marketing at Anaconda, Lodge has over twenty-five years of experience in the software industry at organisations of all sizes.
“I’m joining Diffblue at an exciting time for both artificial intelligence and enterprise software development,” said Lodge. “Rapid delivery of high quality software is critical to more and more organisations as they accelerate digital transformation. Diffblue is applying AI technologies to automated code generation to solve critical pain points for development teams looking to deliver high quality code with less time, effort and drudgery. I’m really looking forward to leading Diffblue in its next stage of growth.”
Diffblue was spun out of the University of Oxford in 2016. Its first product, Diffblue Cover, improves developer productivity by using AI to write tests for Java applications.
Prior to his role at Anaconda, Loge was the vice president of cloud services at VMWare, co-founding its vCloud Air IaaS service, which achieved $100m+ ARR in two years. Earlier in his career, he held a number of product and marketing roles at companies including Symantec and Cisco. He was also a board member of the Linux Foundation’s Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).
“Mathew has a breadth of cross-functional experience building and growing software companies across the U.S. and European markets. He is an outstanding fit for the role and complement to the team, and we are thrilled to welcome him onboard,” said Professor Daniel Kroening, co-founder of Diffblue. In his new role as Diffblue’s chief scientist, Kroening will continue to actively advance the AI technology that powers the company’s products.
Jane Silber, executive chair of Diffblue, added: “As the company’s co-founder, Daniel has driven Diffblue’s growth from the beginning. Under his leadership, Diffblue secured one of the largest Series A funding rounds for AI in Europe, and the team has grown exponentially in the last three years. We would like to express our sincere thanks for his commitment and his continuing work developing the company’s core technology. It’s an exciting time for Diffblue, and Mathew is a great fit for leading the company into this new chapter.”
