Synaxon launches app for those attending annual members conference

In the lead up to its annual member conference, Synaxon UK has gone live with its New Horizons conference app for Apple and Android smartphones and devices.

Synaxon is set to welcome more than 500 member and industry delegates to its conference, which takes place at the Jury’s Inn Hotel, Hinckley on the 20th-21st June 2019.

It is also preparing for the arrival of Frank Roebers, CEO of Synaxon AG, who will be delivering the opening keynote address to the group’s UK members on Thursday morning.

Other speakers at this year’s event include Tim Suhling, VP global business intelligence at headline sponsor Ingram Micro, and riches to rags and back to riches entrepreneur Gerald Ratner. There will be an extended programme of 15 workshop sessions and ample opportunities for members and other delegates to network.

The first day will conclude with a gala dinner, sponsored by AMD, at which the annual Synaxon UK Awards will be presented to top-performing member and supplier partners.

Members attending the conference can download the New Horizons app to see who else is attending, send messages, set up meetings and plan their attendance of workshops. It also includes a ‘Q&A’ feature that can be used to post questions for speakers as they are presenting. Other users can ‘like’ questions and those that get the most likes will go to the top of the list.

The theme of this year’s event is New Horizons – building a better future with Synaxon. It will focus principally on the new and far-reaching investment that Synaxon AG is making in the UK operation. Synaxon UK will be introducing a number of new starters to its members for the first time at the conference.

Among the new additions will be Tony Dell, who has joined as Strategic Buyer and will be managing the group’s distribution agreements. Dell has previously worked as purchasing manager at both VIP Computers and Anixter.

Other debutants will include Mario Scarpa, who has joined Synaxon as its new EGIS support executive and evangelist for the online purchasing system; Natasha Judge, channel business development manager; Terry Hall, channel business development manager; Robin Martin, special bids support and new central purchasing programme manager; and Alison McMahon, who is joining the group to head the Synaxon Academy, which will provide certification training and enablement services to members. More information will be revealed at the conference.

These additions have taken the Synaxon UK headcount to 16, with more staff being recruited to provide additional services over the coming weeks.

Mike Barron, channel director, Synaxon UK, said: “We’re looking forward to a very busy two days. Registrations are going very well and with Frank Roebers personally flying in from Germany, the new members of our UK team, and the new app and extended number of workshop sessions, there is plenty to be excited about.”

While the conference is designed for current members and free for them to attend, a limited number of tickets are available to non-members for the daytime schedule. Barron said: “We’re always ready to welcome prospective members and the conference is an ideal place to find out exactly what Synaxon can do for your business, so yes, if there are resellers or MSPs who want to attend, we’d like to hear from them.”
