North releases $1,000 Focals smart glasses that can connect to Amazon Alexa

Tech start-up North has unveiled a new pair of smart glasses that it’s hoping will appeal to fashionable tech fans.

Named ‘Focals’, the glasses are designed to look like a stylish pair of specs, and come with a $1,000 price tag.

Planning to ship later this year, Focals connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The small built-in projector beams data into the wearer’s eyes, informing them of the weather and time. It can also let users read text messages and even order an Uber.

Another excited feature is the ability to connected to Amazon’s Alexa. The specs come with a small speaker, so when you’re asking Alexa for information, you’ll get an answer directly through the frames.
