Target appointed as F-Secure distributor

Target Components has been appointed distributor by security software manufacturer, F-Secure.

The distribution deal means Target now stocks F-Secure’s entire portfolio of retail and downloadable Internet security products.

The deal also includes the distribution of F-Secure’s VPN products that have been gaining popularity as an additional privacy tool in the wake of several international privacy and hacking incidents.

The Finnish manufacturer, based in Helsinki, has been developing security and privacy software since 1988, starting as Data Fellows, later rebranding to F-Secure and developing BlackLight, the World’s first anti-rootkit technology in 2015. It has since won a number of security awards, including AV-Test’s Best Protection Award five times in a row.

Martyn Kirby, Target’s head of purchasing, commented: “F-Secure’s Internet Security platform pedigree is second-to-none and inspires confidence, with a simple and effective interface, but enormously powerful engine that picks up any potential threat.”

He continued, “Add that to a profitable Revenue Bank reseller scheme that pays out 20 per cent on all renewals for the life of the product, and there’s another great reason for resellers to offer it.”

F-Secure’s head of North European consumer partner sales, Jouni Virkkunen, said of the agreement; “Target’s thirst to support its customer base with great value products and good margins just fits with F-Secure’s own ethos.
