The mobile division at Argos has been waxing lyrical about the launch of Apple’s new iPad and Huawei’s P20 smartphone.
Costing just £319 for 32GB of storage (plus additional discount for the EdTech sector), the new iPad is cheaper and comes with a few more gimmicks than its predecessors. The main feature of the new iPad is it’s compatibility with the Apple Pencil, something that’s not been seen since the launch of the iPad Pro range. This is the first ‘normal’ tablet from Apple to take advantage of the accessory, and it’s designed to give students a chance to ditch the notepad and use only the iPad for class. And while a lot of hype has been surrounding the education sector, Phil Elford, trading manager of Mobile Tech at Argos believes the new Apple tablet will be an equal hit with consumers from all backgrounds.
“We expect this newly announced iPad will be a huge hit with our customers,” Elford said. “It’s really exciting that Apple has extended the Apple Pencil to a lower cost tablet as demand for intuitive technology continues to grow. While the new iPad will no doubt become popular in an educational setting, its expected lower price point will also make it very appealing for consumers and help to make Apple’s much-loved tablets accessible to a wider audience.”
Meanwhile, Huawei has been applauded for its new P20 smartphone. The main noticeable upgrades for the P20 over last year’s P10 includes a glass back, new colours, and an AI-toting processor. The camera has also been given a big boost and that is why Nick Clarke, buying manager, Mobiles at Argos believes it will do well.
