Firstnet Solutions enters administration – reports

Leeds-based VAR Firstnet Solutions is set to enter administration, reports claim.

According to CRN, suppliers have been informed by the reseller that it is headed into administration. Employees have also apparently been told that any owed wages are in doubt.

The report continues to state that FRP Advisory has been appointed as administrator – a claim backed up by FRP who, upon being called by CRN, named the employee handling the case. The employee in question refused to comment.

Details emerged last month of a £48,777 county court judgment (CCJ) on Firstnet from 4 January 2018.

Commenting on the CCJ at the time, Firstnet director Angie Cusworth said: "The CCJ is in the midst of being resolved, unfortunately it was mistakenly overlooked due to the Christmas break. You will see the CCJ will be removed soon.

"It’s a really exciting time for us, we’re on the cusp of some very exciting blue-chip customer contracts in the datacentre."

With this latest news however, it would appear that Firstnet’s problems are a lot more severe than previously believed.

This stands in stark contrast to the reseller’s ambitious expansion from 2017, as Firstnet opened its first data centre. The ex-NHS data centre, was, according to managing director David Cusworth, supposed to ‘offer vital disaster recovery services to businesses’ and create more than 100 new jobs.

However, it would appear that those lofty plans have been the company’s undoing, with sources claiming that expenditure around high-spec kit for the data centre played a pivotal role in the firm’s financial downturn.

Firstnet has not responded to request for comment. This story will be updated with any relevant information if and when it comes to light.
