Wiltshire cyber security firm announces new hires

Cyber security firm Foregenix is racing towards 100 staff by the end of the year, up from a headcount of less than 20 in 2014.

The Wiltshire headquartered cyber security specialists has recruited nine new staff in the summer bringing its headcount to 94.

The new UK-based hires are Giuliano Fasto who takes up the role of penetration tester, information security consultant Maya Majed, sales executive Mike Parker, marketing assistant Jake Dennys, management accountant Patsy Lee, incident response source analysts Alex Constantinou and Jade Hopkins.

Raymond Simpson is heading up the new Australian office as regional director and Reinhard Behrens has joined the South African office as an information security consultant.

Foregenix is looking to fill several technical and sales roles before the end of the year.

The recruitment drive comes on the back of a raft of new deals including contracts with football clubs West Ham United and Nottingham Forest and shoemakers Start-rite.

The Wiltshire headquartered firm offers high-level cyber security consultancy and develops software to detect attempted website security breaches.

According to a 2017 report by leading cyber security professional organisation (ISC)² there will be a shortfall of 350,000 cyber security professionals in Europe by 2022.

Chief commercial officer Benjamin Hosack said: “The industry’s shortfall in experienced professionals makes it challenging to recruit the best. So, it’s a testimony to our ambition, supportive company culture and the quality of our work that we’re able to find the calibre of staff we need. We’re regularly approached by professionals from rival firms who want to join us.

“We’ve also retained many of our people, which has been important to our success, through the opportunities we offer for advancement.”

CEO Andrew Henwood added: “We’ve experienced fantastic growth this year with new offices, product launches and partnerships with best in class companies such as Thinkst and Groundlabs.

“It’s not the end of the year though, and we expect to announce a new UK and international office shortly as well as many other successes.”

Foregenix is currently nominated for several industry awards and was named in The Sunday Times’ SME Export track 100 for 2017, the only cyber security company to make the list.

Foregenix has offices in the UK, USA, South Africa, Uruguay and opened new offices in Germany and Australia this year.
