Apple is reportedly overhauling entire MacBook lineup at WWDC

After 2016’s MacBook Pro launch came under a fair amount of public scrutiny, Apple is now reportedly about to give all three of its laptop products a spruce up at this year’s WWDC. 

According to Bloomberg, the company is working on three updated models. These would be a beefed-up MacBook Pro equipped with Intel’s most up-to-date Kaby Lake processor, a more powerful 12-inch MacBook, along with un updated 13-inch MacBook Air, but there’s no news on whether that will be drastically improved. Apple has been gradually phasing the Air out since the introduction of the 2015 MacBook which is both thinner and lighter.

None of this really seems like a game-changing decision, but at least it shows that Apple is taking on board criticisms that people had of last November’s underpowered MacBook Pro. However, the company is unlikely to go back on its commitment to USB-C, with the MacBook Air – the last remaining Apple laptop to be equipped with the legacy USB-A – likely to be shifted over as well.

WWDC takes place at the San Jose Convention Center from June 5th to June 9th.
