Midwich has become the sole distributor of Samsung’s Interactive products in the UK and EIRE. The trade-only distributor will begin rolling out the vendor’s E-board (an electronic whiteboard) Interactive portfolio January 2017. The products mainly target the education sector and include Samsung 32-inch displays. This partnership will also extend to touch screen options for reseller partners.
The vendor sees its collaboration with the distributor as an opportunity to focus on its entire display range: “It is great to partner with Midwich on such a strategic category for Samsung UK. This addition enhances the full display range already provided by Midwich, and gives Samsung real focus in this area. We are particularly excited to work with the dedicated Interactive sales team, and grow this category for both Midwich and Samsung in 2017,” says Thomas Brittain, head of display channel sales at Samsung Electronics.
To provide support for its resellers, Midwich is going to recruit a Samsung Interactive Support team to make sure customer service aligns with product backing: “Midwich and Samsung already have a strong relationship across various technologies and our value added business model has supported our resellers and system integrators with Samsung large format displays from digital signage solutions to multiple verticals including education, retail and transport,” Lloyd Platt, senior product manager for Samsung commercial displays at Midwich said.
“We have technical specialists with the right expertise, and now it’s natural that we now take Samsung’s Interactive products to market.”
Samsung’s Interactive products offer features that enable consumers to customise solutions, and use the vendor’s System on Chip (SoC) to manage their network and screens. Additional features include the inbuilt OS, optional Android box and access to the vendor’s educational app store.
